Job Purpose

This role is responsible for reducing cost via purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. It includes supplier evaluation using vendor responsiveness, quotes, and services to determine preferred suppliers. Our team member should have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within procurements and apply the knowledge to electronic and antenna related fields. The team member will also leverage volume and preference to negotiate price, payment and delivery terms favorable to the firm. Our team member will rely on instructions, ISO guidelines, and other team members to perform the functions of the job with immediate supervision.

Essential Functions:

Interprets and evaluates contract provisions. Creates purchase orders for the acquisition of materials. Researches, interviews, and negotiates with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications. Obtains oral and written price quotes from vendors. Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers. Purchases goods for the manufacturing department. Creates a production schedule, this schedule is used to track both manufacturing output and customer requests. By maintaining this schedule, the buyer planner ensures that inventory levels are in step with production requirements. Interprets purchasing procedures to departments and vendors, as a specialist in assigned material categories, which require a degree of technical knowledge. Prepares and makes purchase orders through a computerized system and places orders for the purchase of goods and services. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Organizes, updates, and retains product information files and purchase order records. Able to prioritize and handle competing priorities. Excellent follow-up and follow-through. Ability to work with employees at all levels. Ability to handle several tasks.

Job Purpose

Creates mechanical engineering designs and related fabrication drawings. Support roles on various design projects creating piece part design and some vendor research if applicable. Develops some initial configuration management as required. Design with 3D modeling and FEA analysis tools, preferably SolidWorks. Practice with cost reduction techniques. Utilizes DFM and DFA requirements. Works under immediate supervision. Relies on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job. Performs first article inspection and report.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of relevant technical experience which may include: hands-on fabrication to specifications using general shop equipment (i.e. bandsaw, table saw, drill pres, etc.). Troubleshooting and soldering experience. Knowledge of antenna testing equipment. Familiar with basic computer programs: Word, Excel, AutoCad a plus. Some knowledge of antenna and/or RF theory and experiments preferred. Experience with a variety of current manufacturing processes. Ability to effectively interact with technical staff and customer community. Ability to work with employees at all levels. Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive project goals. Must be highly organized, efficient, and able to handle multiple tasks with ease and professionalism. Desirable experience in an engineering development organization. US citizenship. Job Purpose

Responsible for collaborative development and fabrication of prototype designs based on engineering specifications. Must be able to build electro-mechanical designs from drawings, sketches, schematics or from verbal instruction to understand and meet all specifications outlined therein. Must work with limited supervision, effectively manage time and resources according to budget proposals. RF knowledge or antenna knowledge a plus. Must be able to test antennas.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of experience is required OR at least 3 years of experience is required. Some knowledge of antenna and/or RF theory and experiments preferred. Experience with a variety of current manufacturing processes. Laboratory experience with antenna testing desired. Project management experience from the concept through design to prototype development to testing of the prototype and the initial production. Computer modeling and simulation of antennas and RF circuits. Solid computer skills required and ability to learn new skills quickly essential. Ability to effectively interact with technical staff and customer community. Ability to work with employees at all levels. Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive project goals. Exceptional people skills are necessary for this support position. Must be highly organized, efficient, and able to handle multiple tasks with ease and professionalism. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the antenna industry

  • Performs development and design work for antennas.
  • Projects to include fabrication, modification, and evaluation of components.
  • Responds to technical questions and requests from customers.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments.
  • Work on new designs of broadband microwave antenna. Supports efforts within antenna ranges and programs.
