RF Technician IV

Quality Control Technician – Temporary to Hire

 


RF Technician IV

We are seeking an experienced Radio Frequency (RF) Technician to join our growing antenna engineering firm located in Laurel, MD.

The RF Technician IV will work under immediate supervision. They will rely on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • AS in Engineering or equivalent with ten (10) years’ relevant technical experience which may include hands-on fabrication to specifications using general shop equipment (i.e. bandsaw, table saw, drill press, etc.)
  • Troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of antenna testing equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office software package (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with a variety of current manufacturing processes
  • Ability to to communicate clearly with customers and antenna engineers
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive project goals
  • Team player
  • Strong work ethic, including ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of antenna and/or RF theory and experiments
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the antenna industry
  • Soldering experience

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborative development and fabrication of prototype designs based on engineering specifications
  • Setting up, checking and correcting operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry, and equipment adhering to pre-established guidelines of the organization’s engineering specifications
  • Other duties assigned by your supervisor to assist the JEM Engineering team

Quality Control Technician

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician to fill a temporary need at our antenna engineering firm located in Laurel, MD.

This is a temp/contract-to-hire position and we will consider taking on the successful candidate full-time after assessing their performance.

The Quality Control Technician will work under immediate supervision. They will rely on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office software package (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with a variety of current manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering-Production drawings and tolerances
  • Ability to to communicate clearly with customers and antenna engineers
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive project goals
  • Team player
  • Strong work ethic, including ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an engineering environment, specifically a U.S. Government Contractor
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and certification

Essential Functions:

  • Complies with company policies, processes and procedures
  • Performs inspections throughout all manufacturing process such as:
    • Performing a timely inspection of incoming supplied parts,
    • Performing in-process inspection during the production executions, and
    • Performing finished goods inspection
  • Verifies parts in kit before delivering them to production
  • Conducts inspections on Quality Control tools, shop equipment, and safety equipment and protective clothing
  • Maintains measuring tools properly calibrated and keeps the equipment calibration log updated
  • Organizes Production area for efficiency by identifying and storing the items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining order in Production and Quality workspace
  • Properly completes required documentation such as:
    • Inspection forms
    • Acceptance/Rejection tags
    • Nonconformance part forms
    • QC tools calibration certificates
    • Supplier corrective action/corrective action forms when needed
  • Other activities pertaining to quality, that the Quality Manager and Top Management find suitable based on the company needs.
