Contracts Specialist III

We are is seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to join our growing antenna engineering firm located in Laurel, MD. 

The Contract Specialist III will work under general supervision and rely on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two (2) years, within the last five (5) years of direct experience in contracts or business administrative support
  • Solid computer skills
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Ability to effectively interact with technical staff and customer community
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels
  • Exceptional people skills
  • Must be highly organized, efficient, and able to handle multiple tasks with ease and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Government contracting experience
  • Knowledge in the areas of Federal Acquisition Regulations “FARS” and/or International Standards Organizations “ISO,” particularly as they pertain to contracts
  • Experience using QuickBooks

Essential Functions:

  • Administering all aspects of contract from proposal to close-out phase
  • Coordinating estimates of materials, equipment, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules
  • Coordinating and reviewing bids for conformity to contract requirements and assisting in determining final bids with management approval
  • Creating and maintaining customer contract folders by:
    • Retaining soft/hard copies of documentation and by printing, faxing and filing all contract documentation
    • Sending clients contract documents for signature, including critical documents requiring certification and return receipts
    • Documenting all client-related correspondence
    • Facilitating delivery of contracts documents whether by fax, next day air or email
    • Daily contract documentation including concerns and issues
  • Working closely with Program Managers, Cost Allocation Coordinator and production staff by providing contract information such as delivery schedules and deliverables
  • Providing shipping department with proper paperwork and documentation regarding labels for shipping products
  • Invoicing and Accounts Receivables pertaining contracts and test customers
  • Negotiating different types of contracts such as, CPFF, FFP, and Time & Material
  • Facilitating quarterly audits of internal contract documents, including but not limited to resale agreements, partner agreements, Non-Disclosure agreements, and license agreements
  • Provides complete customer satisfaction
  • Other duties assigned by your supervisor to assist the JEM team

Electrical Engineer I

We are is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our growing antenna engineering firm located in Laurel, MD. This is a unique role, one will have the unique opportunity to contribute to a broad array of leading-edge antenna development projects, ranging from hardware design to RF testing.

The Electrical Engineer I will work under immediate supervision. They will rely on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BSEE or equivalent. In some cases, an associate degree with three (3) or more years’ experience may be substituted
  • Experience with engineering design software such as CAD (Solidworks or AutoCAD), computational EM tools, MatLab MATLAB, or others is desirable but not required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and from diverse technical backgrounds
  • Hands-on experience with design assembly, analysis and testing in a lab environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office software package (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Team player
  • Strong work ethic, including ability to work independently

Essential Functions:

  • Performing detailed electronic/RF/Microwave hardware design
  • Software-based analysis and design using computational electromagnetic (EM), mechanical CAD, and/or other software tools
  • Fabricating and assembling of engineering prototypes
  • Electrical testing of circuits, components, and antennas using network analyzers and antenna test chambers
  • Analyzing and presenting of test data using tools such as Excel and MatLab MATLAB
  • Writing detailed documentation of test plans, test reports, and project reports
  • Providing engineering support as needed throughout the life cycle of a project
  • Preparing presentation materials to report project status and progress
  • Working under the guidance and supervision of senior engineers
  • Supervising technicians on a project basis
  • Working in small engineering teams

RF Technician IV

We are is seeking an experienced Radio Frequency (RF) Technician to join our growing antenna engineering firm located in Laurel, MD.

The RF Technician IV will work under immediate supervision. They will rely on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • AS in Engineering or equivalent with ten (10) years’ relevant technical experience which may include hands-on fabrication to specifications using general shop equipment (i.e. bandsaw, table saw, drill press, etc.)
  • Troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of antenna testing equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office software package (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with a variety of current manufacturing processes
  • Ability to to communicate clearly with customers and antenna engineers
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive project goals.
  • Team player
  • Strong work ethic, including ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of antenna and/or RF theory and experiments
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the antenna industry
  • Soldering experience

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborative development and fabrication of prototype designs based on engineering specifications
  • Setting up, checking and correcting operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry, and equipment adhering to pre-established guidelines of the organization’s engineering specifications
  • Other duties assigned by your supervisor to assist the JEM Engineering team
